Budi Arie Chooses Gerindra Instead Of PSI, Observer: Jokowi No Longer Interesting, Gibran Has No Effect As Vice President

JAKARTA The Executive Director of the IPO, Dedi Kurnia Syah, assessed that the choice of Ketum ProJo Budi Arie Setiadi to join the Gerindra Party compared to the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) supported by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was a natural thing.

According to him, Budi Arie needs a figure who has a strong influence in the government, and this factor will not be obtained from Jokowi or Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Jokowi himself is no longer attractive, because he is not the ruler, Gibran's position as vice president is also not influential. This is what makes PSI not quite attractive to pragmatic politicians like Budi Arie," said Dedi, Sunday, November 9.

He said Budi Arie's loyalty did not only lead to Jokowi, but was related to profit and loss.

Therefore, the former Minister of Communication and Information and the Coordinating Minister certainly considers joining Gerindra to be more profitable than getting closer to PSI from a legal perspective.

"By joining PSI, Budi Arie does not have protection, but Gerindra is certainly different, because the ruling party, so the reason for choosing Gerindra is more about legal asylum," he said.

In addition, Gerindra, who is now in power, is considered by Budi Arie to be able to present a career on the political side in the future.

"From a political point of view, it is considered appropriate to join Gerindra, apart from the ruling party, there is also a guarantee that Gerindra maintains Budi Arie's power career. Meanwhile, PSI still has no guarantee whatsoever," added Dedi.

Sebelumnya, saat pembukaan Kongres III Projo beberapa waktu lalu, Budi Arie Setiadi mengaku dirinya suatu saat akan bergabung dengan partai politik.

“Jadi, mohon izin jika suatu saat saya berpartai, teman-teman Projo bisa memahaminya. Enggak usah ditanya lagi partainya apa. Karena apa, Saya mungkin satu-satunya orang yang diminta oleh Presiden Prabowo langsung di sebuah forum,” kata Budi Arie.

Previously, at the opening of the Projo III Congress some time ago, Budi Arie Setiadi admitted that he would one day join a political party.

"So, please allow me if one day I party, Projo's friends can understand it. You don't have to ask what party it is. For what reason, I may be the only person requested by President Prabowo directly in a forum," said Budi Arie.
