JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated IDR 500 million in cash in a hand arrest operation (OTT) against the Regent of Ponorogo, East Java, Sugiri Sancoko (SUG).
"Cash amounting to Rp500 million was secured by the KPK team as evidence in this arrest activity," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, at the KPK's Red and White Building, Jakarta, Sunday (9/11).
Asep explained that the money was related to the request for funds submitted by Sugiri to the Director of RSUD Dr. Harjono Ponorogo, Yunus Mahatma (YUM), on November 3, 2025. On that occasion, Sugiri was said to have asked for Rp1.5 billion. A few days later, on November 6, 2025, Sugiri again demanded the request.
On November 7, 2025, Yunus Mahatma's close friend with the initials IBP coordinated with ED, an employee of Bank Jatim, to disburse money worth IDR 500 million.
"The money was to be handed over by YUM to SUG through NNK's sister as a relative of SUG," said Asep.
