OC Kaligis Surat Kejagung Terkait Dugaan Kasus Korupsi Plaza Klaten

JAKARTA - The head of the legal team for the suspect FS as the Director of PT Matahari Makmur Sejahtera (MMS), Otto Cornelis (OC) Kaligis sent a letter to the Attorney General's Office (AGO) regarding the alleged corruption case in the management of Plaza Klaten.

In his letter, he assessed that the former Klaten Regent Sri Mulyani should also be named a suspect in the case which took place in 2019-2023.

"So it's not just four suspects, namely DS as the former Head of Trade of the Perindangkop Service, FS as Director of PT MMS, and JJ and JS as two people who have served as Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Klaten Regency," said OC in a statement received by Antara, in Jakarta, Saturday, November 8.

He claimed that his party already had various data regarding Sri Mulyani's involvement and wanted to uphold the truth so that there would be no selective slashing.

Therefore, in his letter to the AGO, it is clear and firm to ask the prosecutor's investigators to also name Sri Mulyani as a suspect.

It is said that this has a clear basis because it is impossible for the local government (Pemda) to have assets managed by MMS as a private company without the knowledge of a regent.

"The mass of the regional secretary being sacrificed? I ask him to be a suspect, not worthy anymore," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Special Crimes Section of the District Attorney's Office (Kejari) Klaten Rudy Kurniawan explained that the handling of the case had reached stage two, namely the transfer of the suspect's file and evidence, so that in the near future it would be transferred to the court.

"Probably at the end of November," said Rudy when contacted on a separate occasion.

Regarding the request of OC Kaligis to determine other suspects, Rudy said that his party only received the handling of the second phase of the case, so that the determination of the suspect was the domain of investigators at the Central Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati).

However, he said, if there are people who are aware of the involvement of other parties, they can convey it to investigators by including evidence.

Previously, the Central Java Prosecutor's Office detained the Regional Secretary of Klaten Regency, JP, as a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the management of Plaza Klaten, an asset belonging to the district government, which cost the state Rp6.8 billion.

"The suspect JP was immediately detained after undergoing examination," said Assistant for Special Crimes at the Central Java Prosecutor's Office Lukas Alexander Sinuraya in Semarang, Wednesday (27/8).

According to him, JP, who has served as the regional secretary since 2022 until now, is an official who signed the Plaza Klaten rental cooperation with the suspect JFS, Director of PT Matahari Makmur Sejahtera.

"In 2023, JP and JFS signed a rental agreement with a clause that did not benefit the Klaten Regency Government," he added.

Apart from JP, the Central Java Attorney General's Office investigators also named the Klaten Regency Secretary for the 2016-2021 period with the initials JS as a suspect.

He explained that JS played a role in discussing and establishing rental agreements without procedures that did not benefit the Klaten Regency Government.

"The suspect JS was not detained on health grounds," he said.

He added that the results of the BPK audit revealed that the state losses due to the crime that occurred in 2019 to 2023 reached Rp6.8 billion.

Apart from JP and JS, Central Java Attorney General's Office investigators have also named two suspects, respectively, the former Head of Trade for the Klaten Regency, DS and Director of PT Matahari Makmur Sejahtera, JFS.
