Residents Hear Explosions And Firearms, SMAN 72 Students Run In Scatter

The explosion that occurred at the SMAN 72 Mosque in Jakarta, Kodamar, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta had caused a stir for a number of residents on Jalan Prihatin, RT 08/02, Kelapa Gading Barat Village.

"The sound of the explosion was big, it reads once but it's big. That's a bomb," said ER (25), one of the residents living around SMAN 72 Jakarta to VOI, Friday, November 7, noon.

ER said the incident was heard during Friday prayers.

"It happened on Friday. After the bomb was heard, there were two gunshots," he said.

After the sound of a bomb explosion followed by two gunshots, ER also tried to find the source of the sound.

However, when he left his house, ER saw that a number of SMAN 72 students had run from inside the school area.

"There was a lot of people. Residents and students came out all closer to the school area. It turned out that the explosion was inside the school Mosque. The mosque was specifically for the worship of the students, not for the general public," added ER.

Meanwhile, from VOI's monitoring, the Puslabfor Police Headquarters team has also arrived at SMAN 72 Jakarta to conduct a crime scene investigation.

Previously, a team from the Gegana Unit and the Police Bomb Disposal Team had also conducted a sweep in all parts of SMAN 72 Jakarta.

Until this news was written, there had been no official statement from the authorities regarding the bomb explosion that occurred.
