Kompolnas Assistance Holds Case Of Alleged False Diplomas Of Jokowi

The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) also provided assistance in the case title handling the report of the 7th former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) against Roy Suryo cs, in the alleged defamation case related to the issue of fake diplomas.

Commissioner of Kompolnas Ida Oetari Poernamasi said that in the case title conducted at the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Building on Thursday afternoon, November 6, a number of supervisory elements, both internal and external, were also present to provide assistance.

"From Bid Propam and Itwasum, it means that there are internal and external supervisors. We provide assistance in handling cases relating to Mr. Joko Widodo's report against Mr. Roy Suryo, Tifa, and others," he told the media at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Thursday 6 November 2025.

Ida explained that during the meeting Kompolnas was asked to provide opinions regarding the process of handling cases by investigators. However, he emphasized that Kompolnas focused on the aspect of supervision and compliance with investigation procedures.

"When it comes to technical matters, investigators will submit it later. We at Kompolnas provide assistance regarding the complaints submitted to us. Importantly, we ensure that the procedures carried out adhere to the Scientific Crime Investigation (SCI)," he explained.

Furthermore, regarding the issue of the authenticity of the diploma which was the aftermath of the report of the 7th former President, Ida emphasized the importance of the process of proof which was carried out legally and scientifically.

"Because this is related to the authentic or unauthenticity of the diploma, the proof must go through a correct process and be carried out by a legitimate institution, with appropriate methods," he said.

Ida added that the results of today's meeting are expected to be input for investigators in determining the next legal steps, to determine the suspect.

"I think because this is already a police report, it is the investigator's obligation to follow up. Whether it will be terminated or forwarded, the investigator will explain later," he added.

"We and the experts have provided input, we will wait for the next step tomorrow," he concluded.

Polda Metro Jaya is holding a case to determine who will upgrade the status of the reported party to become a suspect in the alleged case of Jokowi's fake diploma.

"Yes, the assessment with the experts has just been completed and will continue with the case title presenting internal supervision," said Kombes Budi Hermanto.
