JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGRI) Dudung Abdul highlighted the importance of supervision at the school level following concerns about the emergence of leaks about Academic Ability Tests (TKA) carried out by students by utilizing technology.

Dudung emphasized that although in general the implementation of the TKA at the High School (SMA) level went smoothly and no significant obstacles were found, supervision at schools still had to be strengthened to prevent similar incidents to those that had circulated on social media.

Previously, a viral video of students undergoing foreign workers while live TikTok.

"Overall, the implementation of foreign workers at the high school level has gone smoothly because until now there have been no reports regarding things that are not desirable. But we also have to be vigilant, so that no students leak questions for the next wave," Dudung said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 5.

According to him, the potential for misuse of technology by students is a warning for schools to increase the function of leadership and education governance.

"This is what I mean, leadership and school governance must be improved. One of them is the supervisory function. If supervision in schools is strong enough, events like what appears on TikTok will not happen," he said.

Dudung added that the central and local governments have actually carried out socialization and education to teachers, school principals, and the public to maintain the integrity of the implementation of foreign workers.

In line with Dudung, Head of the Lampung Province Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud) Thomas Amirico emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity and honesty during the implementation of foreign workers.

"We make sure there is no leak because the server is at the center, so the area cannot access it," he said.

According to him, technically the local government is fully ready. The main challenge lies in the mental readiness and consistency of student learning.

On a different occasion, Deputy Head of Public Relations of SMAN 1 Depok City Eva Efrida emphasized that her party had taken anticipatory steps to ensure that the implementation of foreign workers was orderly and free from potential leakage of questions.

He said schools had implemented layered surveillance, ranging from the collection of gadgets and student personal goods before the exam began, to the use of special internet networks from schools to maintain system stability and security.

In addition, each examination room is also supervised through the Zoom application by the supervisor, as well as involving cross-supervisors from other schools.

According to Eva, these steps have proven effective in maintaining the focus of students during the exam.
