Probolinggo City Police Ensure Fuel Quality At Gas Stations Is Safe

ProBOLINGGO - Probolinggo City Police, East Java, ensures that the quality of pertalite type fuel oil at several public refueling stations or gas stations in the local city is safe without any mixture of water or other substances.

"We have examined several gas stations, namely the Mastrip Street gas station in Kedopok District, Bromo Highway in Kademangan District, and Jalan Ikan Blanak in Manyangan District," said Head of the Probolinggo City Police Criminal Investigation Unit Iptu Zainal Arifin in his statement in Probolinggo, Antara, Wednesday, November 5.

Joint officers from the Probolinggo City Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim); Office of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Trade (DKUP) Probolinggo City, and Pertamina Malang have checked at a number of gas stations in Probolinggo City.

"We have carried out a number of inspection methods. This is a continuation of previous activities, as a follow-up to complaints from motorized vehicle owners on social media," he said.

The joint team conducted a quality test and quantity of fuel oil (BBM) to ensure suitability with the technical specifications that had been set.

From the examination based on a number of indicators, he continued, fuel at gas stations that were suddenly inspected did not contain a mixture of water or other substances, then the dose was still considered according to standards.

"Alhamdulillah, from the results of the joint inspection, there were no findings. Before the fuel entered the pendam tank, it had already been checked first," he said.

Sales Branch Manager Rayon II PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Hendra Saputra said the indicators for checking fuel at gas stations were carried out through several stages, namely checking the water content in the pendam tank, fuel coming out of the nozel, and the color of fuel.

"In addition, the use of fuel must also be adjusted to the ratio of vehicle compression. For example, pertalite for vehicles with a compression ratio of 1:9, while new vehicles with a compression ratio of 1:10 should use Pertamax," he said.

Hendra also appealed to the public to use the type of fuel according to the designation of their respective vehicles so that if the vehicle is relatively new, it is better to use the Pertamax type of fuel.

"The results of field checks did not find any indications of mixed water in pertalite type fuel at gas stations in the Probolinggo City area," he said.
