The Escape Of Babang Rian After Burning The Maluku Hunuth House Ended In Kemayoran, Arrested By The Police Without A Fight

The Maluku Police General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) team arrested a fugitive in a house burning case in Hunuth Village (Durian Patah), Ambon City, which has been on the wanted list (DPO) for a month.

"It's true, the Maluku Police Ditreskrimum Team has succeeded in arresting the suspect Rian Wailussy alias Babang Rian in Jakarta. The suspect is a DPO for the burning and vandalism case in Hunuth. Currently, the team is conducting an administrative investigation process and bringing the suspect to Ambon for further investigation," said Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Kombes Rositah Umasugi in Ambon, Antara, Sunday, November 2.

The suspect was arrested in the Kemayoran area, Central Jakarta, last Saturday without a fight.

The arrests were made based on the DPO Letter Number DPO/6/IX/RES.1.24/2025/Ditreskrimum dated September 30, 2025 and the Dirreskrimum Order Number Sprin/400/X/RES.1.24/2025/Ditreskrimum dated October 30, 2025.

The Ditreskrimum team departed for Jakarta on October 31 after receiving information on the whereabouts of the suspect.

After mapping and monitoring around Kemayoran, officers found the suspect shopping at a minimarket with a woman who was suspected of being his wife.

Rian was then followed to the boarding house belonging to a resident named Ibu D. At around 09.00 WIB, the suspect was arrested by the owner of the boarding house and the head of the local RT.

Director of Criminal Investigation at the Maluku Police, Kombes Dasmin Ginting, said that this success was the result of the team's hard work which consistently explored every trace of the suspect's escape.

"There is no safe place for criminals. We will continue to hunt down and take firm action against anyone who escapes the legal process," said Dasmin.

Maluku Police Chief Inspector General Dadang Hartanto appreciated the steps taken by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation who succeeded in arresting fugitives outside the Maluku region. He emphasized the Police's commitment to upholding the law indiscriminately.

"I appreciate the success of the team that arrested the DPO in the arson case in Hunuth. This is clear evidence of the Police's commitment to upholding the law and providing a sense of justice for the community," said the Kapolda.

He also reminded criminals who are still fugitives to immediately surrender.

"Sooner or later, we will come pick you up wherever you are hiding. There is no safe place for criminals in the jurisdiction of the Maluku Police," he said.

This success shows the seriousness of the Maluku Regional Police in maintaining a sense of security from the community and upholding the law professionally and fairly.
