Wamentrans Conveys Four Presidential Mandates For Prospective Transmigrants

Deputy Minister of Transmigration Viva Yoga Mauladi provided briefing to participants of the training for the IV and V transmigrant candidates in 2025 at BBPPMT Yogyakarta, Sleman, DIY, Saturday (1/11/2025).

YOGYAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Transmigration Viva Yoga Mauladi explained the four mandates of President Prabowo Subianto to transmigrant candidates who emphasized the role of transmigration in maintaining sovereignty and producing new economic growth centers.

He conveyed the four mandates to 75 prospective transmigrants of the IV and V Forces of 2025 while providing briefing at the Yogyakarta Transmigration Community Training and Empowerment Center (BBPPMT) in Sleman, DIY, Saturday.

"First, to protect the Republic of Indonesia. Because, by moving residents from dense to loose areas, they will occupy vacant lands, quiet spaces, so that there is no penetration, no intervention from outside, which can take over Indonesia's land and water," he said.

He said that the transfer of population in the transmigration program aims to strengthen the spirit of nationality through meetings of various ethnicities, religions, and cultures.

He assessed that the transmigration program was at the forefront of knitting nationalism

"Because as a sense of nationality, people then make that difference something ordinary. Differences in ethnicity, religion, race should not be used as a source of conflict, but as part of Indonesia's cultural wealth," he said.

President Prabowo's second mandate is to eradicate poverty by providing land of one to two hectares to transmigrants as part of agrarian reforms.

He said the state has the responsibility to provide support so that there will be changes in the fate of transmigration residents.

"There is a change in income, so it is hoped that you will make the land not just a place to live, a place to live, but as an economic source for change of fate," he said.

Transmigration participants also received life insurance from the state at the beginning of placement in order to adapt and start a land-based business for 1 to 1.5 years.

The third mandate, he said, was the contribution of the transmigration program to national food self-sufficiency.

He said that many transmigration areas have developed into food production centers, especially rice.

"Most of the transmigration areas are national food barns," he said.

The fourth mandate gave birth to new economic growth centers in transmigration destinations through the presence of residents and economic activity.

He said the transmigration program since President Soekarno's time had produced more than a thousand new villages and administrative areas.

The transmigration program has given birth to 1,567 definitive villages, 464 sub-districts, 116 regencies/cities, and three provinces, namely Central Kalimantan, West Sulawesi and South Papua Provinces.

To transmigrant candidates, Viva hopes that they will have a strong determination to deal with the adaptation process and development of developing areas.

"As a new transmigration citizen, it must have confidence that the change of fate must be in our own hands," he said.

Director General of Transmigration Area Development and Development of the Ministry of Transmigration Sigit Mustofa Nurudin explained that 75 families (KK) who underwent training at BBPPMT Yogyakarta were participants in the local transmigration program.

They will be placed in Torire, Poso, and Sidenreng Rappang, South Sulawesi Province.

Of all the participants, five of them are active members of the Army (AD) who come from the placement area and are facing retirement.

"This is actually a program from the beginning (trans AD) then we arrange it too. So, it will be completed in the past during his service period, later after he retires, he will officially become a trans citizen," he said.
