104 Trees In The POPNAS Venue In East Jakarta Are Pruned To Prevent Falling Trees

The East Jakarta Tamhut Sub-dept. cut 104 rhibun trees in six XVII and XI (POPNAS) venues.

The East Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department (Tamhut) troops cut 104 trimbune trees in six XVII National Student Sports Week (POPNAS) venues and XI National Student Paralympic Week (PEPARPENAS) in the area to prevent fallen trees.

"The supply of 104 rhibun trees has been carried out in stages since the beginning of this week and is targeted to be completed today. This is done not only to prevent the risk of fallen trees, but also to beautify the face of the city," said Head of the East Jakarta Tamhut Sub-dept. Dwi Ponangsera reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 31.

In addition, tree pruning is carried out to ensure the comfort of participants and visitors during the two biggest student sports events in Indonesia.

"We are doing this effort to increase the comfort and smoothness of the national event which was held in Jakarta," said Dwi.

Meanwhile, Head of the Green Line and Cemetery Section of the East Jakarta Tamhut Sub-department Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita explained that the pruning of trees was carried out at the Taman BMX Pulogadung GOR as many as seven trees, GOR Gymnast Raden Inten 20 trees, and GOR Ciracas 11 trees.

Then, at the six-tree Ciracas Football Stadium, 20-tree Gymnastics Building, two-tree Raden Inten Athlete's Wisma, and Pulo Gadung Sports Center reached 15 trees.

Opportunities were also carried out at GOR Rawamangun, covering nine trees near the Baseball field, six squares to the entrance gate field, and 10 trees for motorcycle parking areas.

According to Widhi, this activity is also part of efforts to maintain the balance of the urban environment, so that the green area is maintained even though adjustments are made for the benefit of national events.

"We make sure all trees stay healthy after they are trimmed. The principle is not cutting, but arranging to keep them safe, shady, and beautiful," said Widhi.

The six venues were temporarily closed, starting November 1-10, 2025 from activities other than for POPNAS and PEPARPENAS.

During the closure, residents who usually use the venue can switch to other sports arenas in Jakarta to carry out sports activities.

The East Jakarta City Government also invited the public to participate in the successful implementation of the two national student sports events.
