1.5 Meter Flood Soaks South Jakarta, Broken Embankments And Falling Trees Telan Korban Jiwa!

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that as many as 11 RTs in South Jakarta were still flooded up to 1.5 meters due to rain in the DKI Jakarta area on Thursday, October 30 afternoon until evening.

"The latest information on inundation is that until 08.00 WIB, BPBD noted that currently inundation has occurred in 11 RTs," said Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD, Mohamad Yohan in his statement, Friday, October 31.

Of the 11 RTs, floods hit 1 RT in Pela Mampang Village with water levels reaching 30 centimeters, 5 RTs in Duren Tiga Village reaching 40 to 150 centimeters, and 5 RTs in Jati Padang Village with a height of 40 centimeters.

"The cause is high rainfall, overflowing PHB rivers, and the collapse of the Baswedan Embankment," said Yohan.

BPBD noted that currently as many as 10 people are still taking refuge in Al Ridwan Mosque, Jati Padang Village.

Not flooded, yesterday's rain also caused 10 trees to fall, with details of 1 tree in North Jakarta, 2 trees in South Jakarta, and 7 trees in East Jakarta.

As a result, a number of facilities and buildings were hit, ranging from aerial cables, cars, kiosks, residents' posts, road signs, school roofs, to goat cages.

The incident of a fallen tree on Jalan Dharmawangsa Raya, South Jakarta also injured 1 person and 1 person died.

The rain that hit yesterday afternoon also caused an increase in the Sunter Hulu Alert Post / Siaga 3 at 16.00 WIB and the Alert/Alert Pesanggrahan Post / Siaga 3 at 17.00 WIB.

Currently, the DKI Jakarta BPBD is still mobilizing personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Highways Office, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction and ensure water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads and prepare basic needs for survivors.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time. BPBD DKI urges the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation," concluded Yohan.
