Trump Orders Pentagon To Test Nuclear One Hour Before Meeting Xi Jinping

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump had instructed the Pentagon to conduct a nuclear test about an hour before meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping in Busan, South Korea, Thursday, October 30.

The order was conveyed by Trump in his upload on Truth Social's social media. Initially Trump praised the US nuclear capacity.

"The United States has more nuclear weapons than any other country," Trump said in the post, quoted by ABC News, Thursday, October 30.

He then ordered the Pentagon to conduct military tests on "the same basis" as the test program for other countries that have nuclear weapons.

"Russia is in second place, and China is in third place, but it will match it in 5 years," Trump said.

Trump stressed that US nuclear trials must be carried out as soon as possible.

"Since other countries are testing the program, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our nuclear weapons equally. That process will begin soon," he continued.

About 60 minutes after the post, Trump met Xi Jinping at an air base in Busan, South Korea, Thursday, October 30.

The second meeting lasted about 1 hour 45 minutes.
