JEMBER - The journey of two trains in the Operation Area (Daop) 9 Jember, namely the Pandalungan Train for Gambir Relations in Jember and the Blambangan Express for the Pasarsenen 'Ketapang relation, is still experiencing disruption due to floods that hit the Semarang area.

"Travels of a number of trains have been disrupted due to overflowing water on the upstream and downstream routes between Alastua Station and Semarang Tawang Station in the Daop 4 Semarang area that has occurred since last Tuesday," said PT KAI (Persero) Legal and Public Relations Manager Daop 9 Jember, Cahyo Widiantoro, in Jember, Antara, Wednesday, October 29.

As a result of these conditions, the Blambangan Express train to Ketapang Station and Pandalungan Train to Jember Station experienced delays in arrivals across East Java.

"KA Blambangan Express has a slowdown of 290 minutes or almost five hours, while the Pandalungan train is 180 minutes or three hours late," he said.

It is estimated that the Blambangan Express train arrived at Ketapang Station at around 09.30 WIB, while the Pandalungan train was scheduled to arrive at Jember Station at around 12.00 WIB.

Even though both of them arrived late, PT KAI ensured that the departure schedule from Daop 9 Jember would continue to run normally.

"KA Blambangan Ekspres will depart from Ketapang Station at 15.45 WIB, while the Pandalungan train is scheduled to depart from Jember Station at 16.00 WIB," said Cahyo.

He added that KAI Daop 9 Jember optimizes maintenance and cleaning time so that facilities are ready to be used without sacrificing safety and operational standards.

"Treatment is carried out efficiently but still according to the SOP in order to ensure the safety of passengers' travel and comfort," he said.

As a form of service responsibility, KAI provides full compensation for affected passengers. Passengers who cancel the trip are entitled to a 100 percent refund of ticket duties, as well as for those who do not continue their journey due to flooding.

In addition, for passengers whose destination is not missed due to a rotating operation pattern, KAI will try to provide further transportation towards their final destination. If this is not possible, the ticket will be returned completely outside of the message fee.

Blambangan train passengers and Pandalungan train have also received service recovery services according to the provisions as a form of KAI's concern and responsibility, said Cahyo.

As of 06.30 WIB, the puddles at KM 2+8/9 between Alastua' Semarang Tawang were still high, with a height of +18.5 cm on the upstream and +21.5 cm routes downstream. The KAI team together with related agencies are still carrying out handling in the field.

"KAI apologizes profusely and is grateful for the patience of all service users. We are committed to providing the best service and ensuring safety as a top priority," he said.
