The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Maluku Police has handed over a suspect with the initials AP alias Uya along with evidence of the alleged destruction of a resident's house in Hunuth Village to the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Maluku High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati).
"The investigative team has handed over the suspect AP along with evidence to the prosecutor at the Ambon Kejari Office, after the case file was declared complete," said Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Kombes Pol Rositah Umasugi in Ambon, Wednesday, confiscated by Antara.
The handover or phase II process was carried out after the case file was declared complete (P21) based on the Letter of the Head of the Maluku Attorney General's Office Number: B/3260/Q.1.4/Eoh.1/10/2025 dated October 22, 2025.
The suspect charged with Article 170 paragraphs (1) and (2) of the Criminal Code and/or Article 406 of the Criminal Code concerning criminal acts of joint violence against goods and/or destruction.
Rositah explained, after the second stage of submission, the prosecutor's office will handle the case until the suspect sits in a prison seat and is tried in court.
He also appealed to the people of Ambon City to maintain a security and public order situation (kamtibmas) so that it remains conducive.
"According to the directives and commitments of the Maluku Police Chief, we ensure that the handling of this case is carried out in a transparent and professional manner according to the applicable legal procedures and provisions," he said.
Previously, the Maluku Regional Police had named as many as six new suspects in the case of alleged destruction and burning of houses in Hunuth Village, Ambon.

The determination of the suspects was carried out through the investigation team of the Maluku Police Ditreskrimum on Monday, September 15, 2025.
