Residents of Penjaringan, North Jakarta, complained about the Ancol Harbor Road II toll road construction project carried out by PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada Tbk (CMNP).
The project is considered by residents to have a bad impact on the economy of residents until the closure of road access. RW 13 Penjaringan community leader, Rochimmanto, strongly criticized the construction of the project.
"Ya kekeladiman yang pertama,; mereka tidak memikirkan UMKM yang ada di wilayah RW 13. Kedua, kelihatannya ini mereka tidak, sebelum melakukan kompensasi, tidak ada diskusi, tidak ada solusi tentang masalah UMKM yang mau diperindahkan kemana, apapu segala macam," ujar Rochimmanto kepada wartawan, Senin
As a form of protest, residents also opened a complaint post for the project they considered to be wrongdoing.
"Thirdly, access later after the construction of this motorbike or car or all of that will not be able to pass," he continued.
Rochimmanto explained, in the early stages of development the socialization carried out by CMNP to residents was very minimal. In fact, CMNP should have met local community leaders to discuss the social, economic impacts and the impact of the community's comfort in the development.
"There is no deliberation or summons of existing figures to anticipate things that are not desirable," he said.
He said that CMNP only came to residents and then provided one compensation for the construction of the toll road. However, the compensation actually harms residents because access in and out of residents is now closed.
"Yes (giving compensation), it's just that it doesn't mean, the access is closed, it doesn't sell, it's the same, it's just wrong. They are big companies, but they don't think about people who are economically affected like this," he said.

Rochimmanto admitted that due to being affected by the project, he was forced to close his shop because of the closure of road access. He emphasized that the road project only leaves one road that can only be passed by motorbikes, but the road is damaged.
"So I once asked, what about the economic impact. I said, my access was closed, my shop was closed, I said I met the needs of my family, what? I said that. Yes, he (CMNP) did not have an answer. It was impudent," he said.
He explained that the project had a negative impact on the survival of dozens of residents.
"Approximately (a affected resident) there are about 20 to 25 residents, because there are also bajaj drivers, there are also workshops, there are also noodle makers, there are also various kinds of things, confused about how to sell and where," he concluded.
