Commission IX Of The House Of Representatives Encourages The Government To Immediately Finalize The Presidential Decree On Managing MBG

JAKARTA - Member of Commission IX DPR RI, Netty Prasetiyani Aher encourages the government to immediately finalize Presidential Regulation (Perpres) on Governance of the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG). He hopes that the finalization process of the MBG Presidential Regulation can be completed and socialized to the public so that implementation in the field has strong legal certainty.

"We encourage this Presidential Regulation to be immediately socialized so that the implementation of programs in the regions has clear and uniform references. This is important so that the government's great goal in improving children's nutrition can be achieved," said Netty to reporters, Tuesday, October 28.

According to Netty, the presence of the Presidential Decree will be an important basis in strengthening regulations and improving the quality of the implementation of the MBG program throughout Indonesia.

"The Presidential Regulation of MBG will be an important legal basis so that the implementation of programs is more orderly, transparent, and ensures that the food distributed is truly safe, nutritious, and meets health standards," said Netty.

Netty said that the Presidential Regulation should contain technical provisions, such as the production time of food in the kitchen of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG). He considered that this provision would be an effort to maintain quality, cleanliness, and the freshness of food for beneficiaries.

"We understand that each region has different characteristics and challenges. Therefore, it is important that the implementation of the policy will provide space for adaptation, so that it runs efficiently and according to the needs in the field," said the PKS legislator from the West Java VIII electoral district.

Netty emphasized that the main essence of the MBG program is to improve children's nutrition and ensure food safety.

He also reminded the importance of paying attention to the welfare and occupation safety of kitchen workers who play a direct role in providing nutritious food for children.

The kitchen staff are at the forefront of our children's nutrition providers. They also need to get job health support and a safe work environment," he said.

Netty also encouraged the government to strengthen technical assistance, improve facilities, and integrated supervision by involving various parties such as BPOM, the Health Service, the National Nutrition Agency, and the community.

The key to the success of this program is collaboration. The central, regional and community governments need to join hands so that its implementation really benefits the health and growth and development of Indonesian children," he concluded.

As is known, Presidential Regulation (Perpres) concerning Governance of the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) has not been signed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto. Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik S Deyang revealed the reason for the delay in the issuance of the Presidential Decree was due to repeated adjustments to the dynamics in the field and increased food safety standards.

Even so, BGN ensures that the MBG Governance Presidential Decree will be released immediately after all the substances related to governance, beneficiaries, and monitoring mechanisms are adjusted to factual conditions in the field.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi also ensured that the preparation process for the MBG Governance Presidential Decree was almost complete. The Minister of State Secretary said the government chose not to rush so that the results of the Presidential Regulation on MBG were carefully and comprehensively ordered.
