Honorary Incentives Will Increase By IDR 400 Thousand, House Of Representatives Commission X Hopes Non-ASN Teachers Continue To Improve Competency

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission X of the DPR, Lalu Hadrian Irfani, positively welcomed the steps taken by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) which will increase incentives for non-ASN teachers or honorary teachers by Rp. 400 thousand per month next year.

Then hope that this increase in incentives can motivate non-ASN teachers to continue to improve their competence and performance in providing quality education services for students.

"The welfare of educators is an important foundation to improve the quality of education in the country," said Lalu, Monday, October 27.

He also considered that this step was also in line with the government's commitment to realizing an inclusive and just national education transformation.

As for this year, non-ASN teachers get an incentive of IDR 300 thousand per month. The plan is that next year it will be increased by IDR 100 thousand to IDR 400 thousand per month.

"The Ministry of Education and Culture has distributed these routine incentives directly to the accounts of teachers every month, starting this year," he said.

According to Lalu, this program is also a form of government attention to the welfare of non-ASN educators, which amounts to more than 341,000 teachers throughout Indonesia.

Even so, the head of the education commission stated that his party will continue to support efforts to improve the welfare of non-ASN teachers, including in terms of increasing the value of incentives and improving the distribution scheme.

"We at Commission X will certainly continue to support the increase. Our hope is that this incentive is not just temporary assistance, but is part of a sustainable policy to improve the welfare and professionalism of non-ASN teachers throughout Indonesia," said the PKB legislator.
