Kajati DIY: It's Impossible That There Is No Crime Of Corruption In An Area

The Head of the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) I Gde Ngurah Sriada stated that he would immediately map and inventory the corruption case in this province following up on Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin's direction regarding the optimization of the handling of corruption cases in the regions.

"It is impossible in an area that there is no criminal act of corruption, right, right? Therefore, we will see later, first is one of the (potential) losses of the state, then there is the authority that is violated, and so on," Sriada said after meeting the Governor of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X at the Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta, Monday, confiscated by Antara.

As the new DIY Kajati, Sriada said that he would make an inventory of various problems, both technical and non-technical, before determining the steps to handle cases.

"On Monday, October 27, we had the first day at the office as Kajati DIY. We have briefing all prosecutors and employees this morning," he said.

Following up on the Attorney General's directive, Sriada emphasized that the initial step was to carry out an internal mapping within the prosecutor's office in DIY.

"I mapped it first, I got together with my assistant colleagues first. Because tomorrow Wednesday I will inaugurate a new Deputy Kajati, there is a new Intel Assistant (Asintel), new Aspidsus, and asset assistants. So, I want to hear first how far is one of them related to the handling of corruption cases," he said.

According to Sriada, DIY Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X also emphasized the importance of synergy between the prosecutor's office and local governments in law enforcement in this area.

"He is very 'welcome' to welcome us. He wants to cooperate with us, especially in terms of law enforcement and so that the people of Yogya are truly comfortable, safe, and there are no problems," said Sriada.

When asked about the issue of misuse of village treasury land (TKD) in DIY, Sriada said that he had not discussed it specifically. "Not yet, yes. We'll see first, we will inventory it first," he said.

Previously, Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin inaugurated 17 Heads of the High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) and 20 echelon II officials within the prosecutor's office on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

In his direction, Sanitiar asked the Kajati to immediately optimize the handling of corruption cases in each region and emphasized that they would evaluate the prosecutor's work unit for which there was minimal performance in handling corruption.
