Tragic Night In Gili Trawangan: This Is The Role Of 2 Police Involved In The Murder Of Brigadier Nurhadi

The Public Prosecutor (JPU) revealed the roles of two Police officers, Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama and Ipda I Gde Aris Chandra Widianto in the murder of Brigadier Muhammad Nurhadi at an inn in the Gili Trawangan tourist area.

In the inaugural trial at the Mataram District Court, Public Prosecutor Budi Muklish explained that the two officers who served in the Propam Division of the NTB Police were charged with being directly involved in the persecution and causing the victim's death.

In the description of the indictment, Budi Muklish conveyed the first role of Ipda Aris who carried out severe abuse against the victim.

It started when Ipda Aris, who was staying at a different location, received a video call via WhatsApp from a member of the NTB Police officer M. Rayendra Rizqillah Abadi. Ipda Aris then visited the location of the closed inn, where Kompol Yogi and a woman named Misri were located.

"At that time, Ipda Aris wanted to show Rayendra's video call to Kompol Yogi regarding the arrest of escaping from the NTB Police Detention Center," Budi Muklish was quoted as saying by Antara, Monday, October 27.

Arriving at the accommodation of Kompol Yogi with Misri at around 19:59 WITA, Ipda Aris in the indictment explained the position of Kompol Yogi, Misri, and the victim.

For Kompol Yogi, it was stated in the indictment that he was playing his cell phone while lying in a room adjacent to the small pool where Misri and the victim were.

"Misri is on the edge of the pool in front of the bed, while the victim is still bathing," he said.

They were involved in the activity at night, which was recorded under the influence of alcoholic beverages and took ecstasy pills and Riklona brand sedatives. In that position, Ipda Aris, who was making a video call with Rayendra, pointed his cellphone at the victim.

"Look at it! Nurhadi is still swimming!" said the prosecutor imitating Ipda Aris' sentence.

The victim then greeted Rayendra by calling "Ndan?" and Rayendra answered via video call saying "No, I'm on picket. Yes, I want to hand over the picket first!".

After the video was closed by Rayendra, Ipda Aris approached the victim and reminded him of his behavior which was considered disrespectful to Rayendra.

"Seeing the words and behavior of the victim who was disrespectful and felt that he did not respect the seniors because of the influence of alcoholic drinks and ecstasy, so his speech began to run and was out of control, the defendant Aris came to the victim and sat beside the victim while reprimanding him," said the prosecutor.

While consulting the victim, Ipda Aris pushed and beat the victim's face using a paved left hand, one of which was using a ring very hard and full of power four times, leaving a stab wound on the victim's face.

After receiving the impact from the defendant Aris, the victim conveyed

"Ready to make a mistake, commander!".

Ipda Aris then left the Yogi Police Commissioner's inn with Misri and left the victim without telling him to return to a different inn location.

Then at around 20.30 WITA, Kompol Yogi woke up from bed and immediately saw the victim still in the pool with Misri who was a date for Kompol Yogi.

Kompol Yogi, who was mentioned in the indictment, is still under the influence of alcoholic drinks and ecstasy pills as well as Riklona's sedative, suspicious, angry and upset about the behavior of the victim who had not yet returned to the inn location.

"So that Kompol Yogi immediately argued that the victim using his right hand was at the bottom of the neck of the victim, while Kompol Yogi's left hand held the victim's right hand and pulled it towards the back," said the prosecutor.

Kompol Yogi did this with the position of the victim's body pressing from above the back and locking the victim's right leg with his leg. "So the victim's position was completely locked and it was difficult to let go," he said.

The prosecutor in the indictment said that Kompol Yogi was believed to be able to do this because as a member of the National Police he had basic martial arts skills and was experienced in the field of criminal investigation.

As a result of the piting, the victim was in pain and tried to release Kompol Yogi's action by struggling and crawling.

"This resulted in the victim suffering abrasions on the knee, back, abrasions on the right leg, fractures of the tongue, and fractures of the neck as an antemortem wound that contributed to death," said the prosecutor.

After the victim became weak, helpless and lost consciousness, continued the prosecutor, Kompol Yogi released his pits and pushed the victim's body into the pool.

Kompol Yogi then moved from the edge of the pool and sat in a chair near the pool while burning a cigarette.

Seeing the victim who did not appear on the surface of the pool, Kompol Yogi immediately jumped into the pool trying to save the victim by lifting it from the bottom of the pool and laying it on the edge of the swimming pool while providing help.

"However, the effort failed to make the victim aware, so Misri asked Kompol Yogi to contact Ipda Aris to immediately come to the inn to help the victim," he said.

After the incident, the victim was then rushed to a health clinic in the Gili Trawangan area to get further medical treatment.

However, these efforts did not produce results until the clinic declared the victim dead.

From the actions of the two defendants, Ipda Aris and Kompol Yogi were subject to Article 338 of the Criminal Code concerning murder and/or Article 354 paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code concerning severe persecution which resulted in the death of people and/or Article 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code regarding persecution which resulted in the death of people and/or Article 221 of the Criminal Code concerning Obstruction of Justice or obstructing the investigation in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.
