The Simatupang TB Galian Project Is Completed, The Free Fatmawati 2 Toll Road Is Stopped

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency officially ended traffic engineering in the Jalan TB Simatupang area, Jalan RA Kartini, South Jakarta, after all excavation projects that had participated in the road were declared complete.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that traffic arrangements will return to normal starting Monday, October 27.

That way, the Fatmawati 2 Toll Gate canalization policy which was implemented to facilitate the flow of vehicles has now been officially stopped.

"Traffic engineering is declared to have ended on Monday, October 27, 2025, and traffic regulation returns to normal. The Fatmawati 2 Toll Gate can be declared not enforced," Syafrin said in his statement, Monday, October 27.

Syafrin explained that the project that had been completed included the complete street construction work at Simpang Fatmawati, the installation of PAM Jaya's clean water pipe network at three points (PIT 13, 14, and 15), as well as the PAL Jaya wastewater network at MS 04 and MS 07 locations.

"We are advised road users to adjust the traffic arrangements set, obey traffic signs, instructions from officers in the field and prioritize traffic safety on the road," explained Syafrin.

Based on the evaluation during the implementation of traffic engineering from September 15 to October 24, 2025, Syafrin revealed a number of indicators showing significant improvements.

In detail, the volume of vehicles at peak hours fell 18.68 percent, road capacity increased 45.33 percent, and the average speed of vehicles rose 17.76 percent, so that the severe congestion that many road users had complained about was claimed to no longer occur.

Meanwhile, the number of users of public transportation has also increased. The average number of passengers on Transjakarta, microtrans, and integration bus services rose 17.81 percent, while MRT Jakarta passengers at Fatmawati Station increased 23.97 percent.

Previously, Fatmawati 2 Toll Gate on Jalan TB Simatupang had been opened for free since mid-September 2025. This step was taken as a strategy of the DKI Transportation Agency with PT Jasa Marga to unravel congestion around the clean water and wastewater excavation project which caused long queues of vehicles, especially during working hours.

The toll road policy applies every 17.00' 20.00 WIB for vehicles from Pondok Pinang to Depok or Serpong. During its implementation, Dishub officers together with the police also carry out traffic channels around toll access to maintain smooth flow.
