JAKARTA - The presence of Indonesian peacekeeping forces in Lebanon to Congo is a commitment to humanity by bringing peace values, love to solidarity, said the Central Commander of the TNI Peace Maintenance Mission Major General Taufik Budi Santoso.

This was conveyed by Major General Taufik in a talk show entitled "Indonesia's Role in the UN Peace Maintenance Mission & Youth's Role in Global Peace" which was held on the sidelines of the 75th anniversary of the Indonesia-PBB cooperation with the theme "Maintaining the World, Weaving Harmony: Indonesia's Role in Peace Maintenance Mission" at Atma Jaya Catholic University Jakarta, Friday, October 24.

Until 2025, Indonesia was ranked fifth in the world as a contributor to the peacekeeping force (TCC) with more than 2,700 personnel on duty on various UN missions, including at MONUSCO (Republic Democratic Congo), UNIFIL (Lebanon), MINUSCA (Central African Republic), UNMISS (South Sudan), MINURSO (West Sahar) and other peace missions.

Indonesia implements a comprehensive approach to peacekeeping missions, which not only focuses on security aspects, but also post-conflict community development, women's empowerment and civil protection, ranging from infrastructure development and public facilities to health services, education, to social activities that strengthen relations between peacekeeping forces and the local community.

"Our peacekeepers represent Indonesia's commitment to humanity," said Major General Taufik, launching a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saturday, October 25.

"From Lebanon to Congo, they carry not only the red and white flag, but also the values of peace, affection and solidarity," he said.

This year's commemoration is also part of a series of global celebrations of UN@80, which marks eight decades of UN's work in advancing peace, human rights, and sustainable development. As stated by UN Secretary-General Ant Totalio Guterres.

"The world needs our unique legitimacy, the power to bring together nations, and our vision to unite the world, bridge differences, and face common challenges."
