South Korea-North Korea At The Border, Allegedly Due To Armed Disposal Army

JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Joint Armed Forces of the South Korean Armed Forces (South Korea) stated that the North Korean army (North Korea) was suspected of violating the inter-Korean border.

Yonhap news agency via Tass Friday, October 24, reported that two armed North Korean soldiers allegedly crossed the military's demarcation line and approached South Korean checkpoints as far as 200 meters on October 19.

On that same day, a North Korean soldier defected to the south of the Korean Peninsula.

There are allegations that two armed North Korean soldiers crossing the South Korean border post were deployed to find the defector.

The South Korean military broadcast the warning by firing warning shots after they crossed the border. The North Korean soldiers then returned to their country.

At that time, South Korean officers were not sure if the two cases were interrelated, as the defectors crossed the border at around 07.00 local time, while two soldiers were suspected of violating the border at around 12.00.

Yonhap believes that South Korea seems to have decided not to release information so as not to escalate tensions.

Another incident occurred on Thursday, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff reported another border crossing.
