JAKARTA - Member of Commission C of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Lukmanul Hakim, questioned the motive for depositing the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) of IDR 14.6 trillion in banks.

"Since 2020 I have repeatedly reminded you, don't be too engrossed in placing regional money in deposits. Public money should encourage economic growth, not sleeping in a bank," said Lukman in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, November 23.

According to Lukman, such a large fund should not be allowed to settle in banks because it has the potential to raise public questions regarding transparency and effectiveness of regional financial management.

"Is this purely a technical reason or is it of interest outside the public? This must be explained openly," he said.

He also highlighted the potential for unhealthy relations between regional financial management officials and the bank receiving deposits. Therefore, Lukman urged the DKI Jakarta Regional Financial Management Agency (BPKD) to explain in detail the placement of the funds.

"As the Head of BPKD, the official concerned must ensure that regional money works for the people, not sleeps in deposits. Which banks are the IDR 14.6 trillion funds placed? In what form? How much interest and where did the interest proceeds go? " said Lukman.

Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo explained that the deposited funds of Rp. 14.6 trillion would be used to pay for development projects at the end of the 2025 fiscal year.

"That's true a thousand percent (there are funds deposited). But indeed the Jakarta APBD payment pattern usually jumps at the end of the year. That's what we are preparing for payment in November and December," said Pramono in Central Jakarta, Wednesday (22/10/2025).

He gave an example, by the end of 2023 the funds deposited in the bank reached around Rp. 16 trillion, and in 2024 it was Rp. 18 trillion. Pramono ensured that all these funds would be used to pay for development obligations in the capital city.
