JAKARTA - Brazilian President Luiz In Goodycio Lula da Silva stated the need for Indonesia and Brazil to strengthen and renew the strategic partnership that has been established since 17 years ago in various fields.

This was conveyed by President Lula during a one-on-one meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, October 23 at noon.

"I want to convey that with great joy I returned to Indonesia after 17 years. In 2008, we established a strategic partnership, and since then the relations between the two developing countries have been very positive," said Lula, quoted by ANTARA.

According to President Lula, this state visit is an important momentum to renew the strategic partnership that has been established since 2008 between Indonesia and Brazil.

Lula said the relations between the two countries so far have led to positive things, but have not fully optimized the great potential that the two nations have.

"We represent almost 500 million people, around 280 million from Indonesia and 210 million from Brazil. Both are countries with a strong developing economy," he said.

Lula emphasized the importance of closer cooperation in various fields, ranging from politics, economy, social to scientific.

He also encourages increased collaboration in new sectors such as artificial intelligence, data centers, and inter-university relations.

"I come with great hope to renew our strategic partnership and explore new agreements, not only in the field of bilateral trade, but also investment in new sectors such as artificial intelligence and data centers to deepen collaboration in scientific innovation and technology," said Lula.

According to him, the common challenge in improving the welfare of society in both countries can be overcome through social programs and technological innovation that support each other.
