Budget Efficiency, West Java DPRD Secretariat Starts WFH 50 Percent In November

The West Java DPRD Secretariat revealed that they will start a trial of work from home (WFH) policies of a maximum of 50 percent for 133 employees starting November 2025 in preparation for efficiency in 2026.

West Java DPRD Secretary Dodi Sukmayana said the trial of some employees was scheduled to work from home in rotation, in the hope of reducing the provincial legislative building's monthly operating expenses.

"November will try to reduce the number of employees who enter in the hope that there will be efficiency in the use of electricity, water, and the internet," said Dodi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 22.

In addition to working in the office, Dodi also said that his party would implement a policy of limiting personnel in DPRD facilitation activities with a 5:1 scheme, namely five members of the West Java DPRD, facilitated by one person.

"By using a ratio of 5 members, it is facilitated by 1 person, so the purpose of the official travel fee is efficiency," said Dodi.

Despite imposing WFH on some employees, Dodi said their rights would still be given.

"The remaining 50 percent of the employees are WFH. They are still paid their salaries," said Dodi.

In addition to targeting employees by conducting WFH, Dodi said that his party will maximize solar panels for power sources, stop using paid internet and maximize what Kominfo provides, and maximize groundwater use in order to suppress monthly operations that have also begun to be tried in November 2025.

According to Dodi, this efficiency trial will be carried out in stages so that employees are accustomed to the new system in early 2026, without disturbing institutional performance.

Despite the limited budget, he ensures that all activities, including administrative services and support, continue to run optimally.

"Efficiency is not an excuse to reduce work quality. It is a challenge to be more creative and efficient," he added.
