Indonesia Will Ensure APEC Creates Real Impact Cooperation

"Indonesia will ensure that the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) will produce cooperation that has a real impact and is directly felt by the community," said one of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials.

Presiden Prabowo Subianto direncanakan menghadiri KTT APEC yang digelar pada 31 Oktober - 1 November 2025 di Gyeongju, Korea Selatan. KTT kali ini mengusung tema "Building a Sustainable Tomorrow: Connect, Innovate, Prosper".

Speaking in a press statement at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, Wednesday, the Director General of Asia, Pacific and African Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Ambassador Abdul Kadir Jailani, said that Indonesia's presence at the summit this time was to ensure that APEC resulted in real-impact cooperation, which could be felt by the community of business actors and the world of work.

"We know that there are often many criticisms that say APEC has not come into direct contact with the public, with a real economy on the ground," said Ambassador Kadir, Wednesday, October 22.

"Therefore, we are trying, (together) Korea (South) and several other countries also have the same view, the importance of ensuring a real impact on business actors," he said.

The senior diplomat, who has been inaugurated as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Germany, said that his participation in the summit this time would strengthen Indonesia's position in the region.

"At the same time affirming our role in building a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable future for the Asia Pacific economy," he said.

Apart from President Prabowo, it is planned that 20 other APEC member countries leaders will attend the Summit which will be held at the Gyeongju Hwabaik International Convention Center.
