Commemoration Of Santri Day, Hasto: Megawati Leaves 3 Messages Of Jihad Resolution To Instill Love In The Country

The PDI-P interprets the commemoration of National Santri Day 2025 as a momentum to raise the nation's moral strength and self-confidence.

Secretary General of the PDIP DPP, Hasto Kristiyanto said, on the commemoration of Santri Day, PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri, left three important messages regarding the relevance of the Jihad Resolution today.

"We hope that by celebrating and commemorating this Resolution, we can really hold three messages from Mrs. Mega," said Hasto at the 2025 Santri Day commemoration with the theme Santri Struggling: Bung Karno Teachings, Legacy of Independence and Contribution of the Young Generation at the Lenteng Agung Party School, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 22.

Hasto also conveyed three core messages from Megawati Soekarnoputri regarding the Jihad Resolution.

First, Megawati emphasized the Jihad Resolution as a moral force or moral force. This force, according to Megawati, is driven by belief, extraordinary love for the homeland, and the foundation of strong religious values.

Second, making this historic event the foundation for building self-confidence.

"When we unite, we can face the winner of the Second World War," Megawati said as conveyed by Hasto. By uniting and mobilizing the spirit of nationality, self-confidence as a great nation with the ideals of building a new world system' (to build the world anew) can be realized, as Bung Karno was convicted on September 30, 1960," he continued.

Third, invite all children of the nation to celebrate Jihad Resolution as part of a historical awareness of Indonesia's ideals to contribute to the world. Megawati invited to take the spirit of Jihad Resolution, the Asia Africa Conference, and the Non-Aligned Movement.

"With the burning patriotism, we dare to face anyone who colonizes us, both in the fields of politics, economy, culture, and so on," said Hasto conveying Megawati's message.

Hasto also emphasized that these messages are expected to be able to unite the nation's children in defending humanity, justice, and truth without fear.

"The challenges we face are not easy," he said.

Hasto also revealed flashbacks of the determination of Santri Day. He recalled the role of PDIP DPP Chair Ahmad Basarah, who, in the context of ideological and historical awareness ahead of the 2014 presidential election, proposed a commitment to remember the heroic events of Jihad Resolution.

"And then on the Santri Day as well as the birthday of Pancasila on June 1, 1945, we made it an effort to straighten that history," explained Hasto.

After consulting and obtaining permission from Megawati, said Hasto, the joint struggle finally succeeded in presenting Santri Day which was linked to the birth of Pancasila. This confirms that santri are an integral part of the history of the nation's struggle.

Hasto said the Jihad Resolution on October 22, 1945 was not just a common ground between religion and nationalism. However, the event shows how all Indonesian people and their leaders unite, stand firmly against the winners of the Second World War, Britain and their allies, who come to Surabaya.

"For example, from the start there was an extraordinary vision about this Republic," concluded Hasto, citing Bung Karno's struggle to unite the ideas of nationalism, Islam, and socialism as a reality of world civilization.
