KNKT Hong Kong Investigate Cargo Plane Two-sided Accident Kills 2 Airport Workers

JAKARTA - Hong Kong Air Accident Investigation Authority deployed an investigative team to investigate a cargo plane crash that crashed into a security patrol car at Hong Kong International Airport on Monday, October 20 in the early hours of the morning.

Citing AFP, although the Hong Kong Air Accident Investigation Authority, equivalent to the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC), this case has been classified as an accident.

However, investigations related to the Boeing 747 cargo plane crash will still be carried out to investigate various factors, including systems, operations, and flight maintenance.

The cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder are also being sought.

The Boeing 747 plane slipped into a Hong Kong Airport security patrol car, then dragged the car into the sea killing two airport security workers on Monday, October 20, at 03.50 in the morning local time.

Local firefighter Yiu Men-yung said when rescue teams arrived after the crash, the cargo plane had been split into two parts, floating in the sea, and its four crew members were waiting to be rescued at the open flight gate.

While two airport security workers who were in a patrol car were killed, the other two survived.
