JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo is committed to assisting Barito Market traders by providing a proper place, despite the findings of the practice of misuse of kiosk rental permits that occurred in the market.

At Barito Market I really had good intentions to give space, opportunities to traders. And I've actually heard that. But once again, I don't want to question too much back," Pramono said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 18.

Pramono said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government had prepared a good and proper place, namely Sentra Fauna in the Lenteng Agung area, South Jakarta.

The center stands on an area of 7,500 square meters (m2). From this area, about 2,000 m2 is allocated to traders who previously occupied the Temporary Location (Loxem) of JS 25, JS 26, JS 30, and JS 96.

The total kiosk is divided into three main zones, namely Zone A consisting of 22 culinary kiosks, Zone C and D with 74 bird traders' stalls and animal feed, and Zone E for parcels and culinary stalls with 29 kiosks.

The Zone B which is intended for amphitheaters is still not in process.

"I have prepared in Lenteng Agung a good, decent place, so they are certainly expected to finish it soon," said Pramono.

Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) revealed the practice of abusing kiosk rental permits that occurred at Barito Market, South Jakarta.

Head of the DKI Jakarta PPKUKM Service, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo said, in recent years, 58.9 percent or 93 of the total 158 kiosks in Barito Market were controlled by only a number of traders.

"Based on data in the field, a number of traders have been suspected of abusing the Barito Market kiosk rental permit. It turns out that one trader can control 10 to 15 kiosks, for then they rent them to small traders," he said.

According to data from the PPKUKM Service, Ratu continued, the practice of misuse of kiosk rental permits occurred in almost all stall blocks at Pasar Barito.

In Block JS25, which is a pet trading area, for example, 68.2 percent or 58 of the total 85 kiosks are controlled by only 17 traders.

"In this kiosk block, there is one trader who controls 15 kiosks and then rents them to a second party, as if this kiosk belongs to a private party," explained Ratu.

Then in the JS26 block, fruit and parcel trading zones, 88.9 percent or 16 of the total 18 kiosks are controlled by 6 traders. Then in the JS30 block, the culinary zone, 50 percent or 17 of the total 34 kiosks of lease rights were controlled by six people.

Only in the culinary block JS96 data between official rental rights and trading practices in the field are appropriate.
