JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has ensured its commitment to maintaining public trust in managing state money.
This was conveyed by the Chairman of the KPK, Setyo Budiyanto, when his institution again won an Unqualified Opinion (WTP) on the 2024 Financial Statements of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). They have maintained this achievement for the past six years or since 2019.
"We not only demand accountability from other parties, but also must prove it from within. This achievement is proof of the KPK's commitment to maintaining public trust in the management of state finances," Setyo said as quoted from the KPK's official statement, Saturday, October 18.
Setyo asked for this achievement to be maintained. He also appreciated the employees in the form of maintaining institutional financial governance.
"We have a big responsibility to maintain the WTP opinion that has been achieved for six consecutive years," he said.
Meanwhile, Member I of BPK RI Nyoman Adhi Suryadnyana appreciated the KPK's work in managing finances and follow-up to the results of the examination. He also said that the level of completion of the anti-corruption commission was nationally highest.
The results of the BPK's examination stated that the KPK's financial statements were considered reasonable in all material matters, including the realization of budget, operations, and changes in equity, in accordance with Government Accounting Standards (SAP). No significant problems were found that had an impact on the reasonableness of financial reports.
In terms of the performance of preventing corruption for the first semester of 2025, BPK assesses that there is still room for increased effectiveness in the implementation of prevention.
"We express our high appreciation to the KPK. The level of completion of recommendations on the results of the examination reached 92.21%, including the highest nationally. This achievement shows the KPK's real commitment in following up on each examination result and strengthening accountable financial governance," said Nyoman.
