Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School Immediately Starts Teaching Activities

SIDOARJO - Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) Al Khoziny Sidoarjo, East Java, immediately restart teaching and learning activities after the disaster of the prayer room collapsed on September 29.

Perwakilan pesantren sekaligus Ketua Alumni Ponpes Al Khoziny Sidoarjo KH Zainal Abidin, di Sidoarjo, Jumat, mengatakan sejumlah santri mulai kembali kekosana pada Jumat malam.

"Tonight, students have started to return to the hut, especially students who study and students at the madrasah aliah (equivalent to high school) and madrasah sanawiah (equivalent to junior high school)," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 17.

The boarding school activity will be centered at the Lecture Building 2 of the Al Khoziny Islamic Institute, Faculty of Syari'ah, which at the time of the disaster became a joint post of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).

He said that until now the main building of the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School which is next to the collapsed prayer room, namely the men's santri dormitory and the santri classroom, is still limited to the police line so that the teaching and learning process for male students will be diverted to other buildings.

The use of other buildings in the teaching and learning process for the cottage was carried out because the boarding school appreciated the ongoing legal process related to the disaster that killed 63 students.

On the other hand, there is no exact number of how many students will return to carry out learning activities at the boarding school.

Currently, the focus of the boarding school will immediately carry out the teaching and learning process for the sake of student education so as not to be neglected.

"The important thing is that the boarding school will continue to provide educational services so that the learning process is not neglected," he said.

Zainal said that apart from the teaching and learning process in the hut, later the alumnuspondok bond will also provide trauma healing assistance for the victim and his family.

In addition, alumnusponpes will immediately provide assistance in the form of school scholarships for students who are seriously injured, causing physical disabilities.

"Alumni will help the younger students, especially those who have special needs due to this disaster, to get school scholarships up to the Master's degree or master's degree," he said.
