JAKARTA - Moscow will regard the supply of Tomahawk missiles to the Kyiv regime as a hostile measure that will significantly increase risks to global security, Russia's intelligence chief said.
"If that happens, Russia will consider this step an act of hostility," said Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Agency (SVR) Sergey Naryshkin, as reported by TASS on October 17.
"And these steps, if implemented, will certainly substantially increase risks in the security sector - not only European security, but also global security," he said on the sidelines of a meeting of the Council of Heads of Security and Commonwealth Special Services for Merdeka Countries (CIS) in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
"This issue, at least partly, was discussed yesterday in a telephone conversation between the president of the Russian Federation and the United States," added the Head of SVR.
On Thursday, US leader Donald Trump, after a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, said they had agreed to meet in the Hungarian capital.
On that occasion President Trump stressed that Uncle Sam's country could not consume the stock of its own Tomahawk cruise missile by supplying it to Ukraine. He confirmed that the issue of sending Tomahawk to the Kyiv regime had been discussed with his Russian partner, President Vladimir Putin.
Meanwhile, President Putin in turn told President Trump that supplying long-range missiles to Ukraine would jeopardize the peace process and undermine US-Russian relations, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov told reporters.

"Vladimir Putin reiterated his thesis that the Tomahawk missile will not change the situation on the battlefield, but will cause significant damage to relations between our two countries, not to mention the prospect of a peaceful resolution," he explained.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to meet President Trump at the White House on Friday to discuss the latest supply of weapons, including the Tomahawk missile.
