Four Defendants Of Corruption At The East Lampung Regent's Office House Tried

Four defendants in the corruption case of construction or arrangement of the gate area of the East Lampung Regent's official residence (rumdis) for the 2022 fiscal year are undergoing trial at the Tanjungkarang District Court, Bandarlampung.

The four defendants who underwent the trial were former East Lampung Regent for the period 2021-2024 M Dawam Rahardjo, Agus Cahyono as Director of CV GTA who acted as provider of goods and services, Sarwono Sanjaya as Director of CV Laras Cipta who acted as supervisory consultant, and Mahdor as ASN in the East Lampung Regency Government who also played PPK.

During the trial, the defendant Dawam Rahardjo filed an exception at the upcoming trial, while the other three defendants did not file an exception.

The legal adviser to the defendant Mahdor as PPK, Osep Doddy, said that his party did not file an exception and chose to go forward to prove the case.

"We have studied the prosecutor's indictment and we see that it seems that there is no formal defect as referred to in Article 143 of the Criminal Procedure Code so that we do not file an exception," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 16.

The four people became defendants in a corruption case in the construction/maintainment work of the gate area of the Regent's office in the 2022 fiscal year with a ceiling of Rp. 6.99 billion.

Based on the results of the BPK RI Lampung audit, the project caused state losses of around Rp. 3.8 billion.

Allegations of irregularities emerged after the BPK found work under specifications that had not been repaired for more than 90 days. The findings were then followed up by the Lampung Attorney General's Office together with the East Lampung Kejari.

On January 9, investigators searched the office of the East Lampung PUPR Service and the regent's official residence.

A number of evidences were also confiscated, including project documents, a Honda Brio BE-1601-AAT car, land certificates, gold bullion, luxury bags and watches, savings books, cell phones, and several ATM cards.

The Lampung Prosecutor's Office suspects that the project is not in accordance with technical specifications, which resulted in state financial losses of IDR 3.8 billion.
