Corruption 70 Hectares Of MXGP NTB Land, A Number Of Samota Regency Government Officials Examined Today

The West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati NTB) stated that the investigation into the case of purchasing 70 hectares of land by the Sumbawa Regency Government (Pemkab) in the Samota tourist area, which is now the Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP) circuit area, is still ongoing.

"Yes, this is still an investigation," said Assistant for Special Crimes at the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Muh. Zulkifli Said by telephone, Thursday, was confiscated by Antara.

Regarding the examination of a number of Sumbawa Regency Government officials which took place today at the NTB Prosecutor's Office building, Mataram City, Zulkifli confirmed this, but chose not to reveal the identity of the party undergoing the examination.

"There is (examination), let it run first, don't let them feel what they are, they are afraid to lose evidence. So, I can't inform you yet," he said.

In this investigation, the prosecutor cooperated with the NTB Representative Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to calculate state financial losses.

This calculation is part of the prosecutor's efforts to complete evidence at the investigation stage which has found elements of criminal acts of corruption that lead to allegations of inflating land purchase prices and abuse of authority by regional officials.

During the investigation, the prosecutor's office was also observed to be still examining witnesses. One of the most intensive witnesses undergoing examination was the former East Lombok Regent M. Ali Bin Dachlan as the land seller.

The Sumbawa Regency Government bought land for the needs of the Samota MXGP circuit in 2023. The government allocated a purchase budget of IDR 53 billion from the APBD.

Samota is an acronym for the names of three tourist areas in Sumbawa, namely Saleh Bay, Moyo Island, and Mount Tambora.
