The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) has confirmed that three Indonesian citizens (WNI) were arrested in Malaysia for allegedly being involved in a sadistic torture case against a fellow Indonesian citizen with the initials DAK.

Director of Protection for Indonesian Foreign Affairs Judha Nugraha said the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) Kuala Lumpur had coordinated with the Malaysian Royal Police (PDRM) regarding the handling of the case.

"Through coordination with PDRM, information was obtained that six perpetrators had been arrested and detained for investigative purposes. The six perpetrators consisted of three Indonesian citizens and three Malaysian ID card holders," Judha said in a written statement, Antara, Thursday, October 16.

He added, based on the results of the initial investigation, the main perpetrator was suspected of being an Indonesian citizen.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, continued Judha, first received a report related to the case of torture against DAK on October 12, 2025. A day later, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur immediately met the victim at the hospital where he was being treated.

From the victim's statement, the torture took place on October 7, 2025 and was carried out by fellow Indonesian citizens along with a number of Malaysian citizens due to personal problems.

With the help of local residents, the victim was then taken to a hospital in Kuala Lumpur for medical treatment.

"The condition of the victim is currently gradually recovering, has been able to communicate well and run without aid," said Judha.

In addition to coordinating with PDRM, the Indonesian Embassy also continues to communicate with the hospital where DAK is being treated, prepare documents for investigation, and provide legal assistance.

"The Indonesian Embassy will continue to monitor the legal process of this case, including ensuring legal assistance for victims," he said.

Judha also appealed to all Indonesian citizens abroad to maintain behavior and avoid actions that violate local state law.

Meanwhile, a member of the inactive DPR, Uya Kuya, is known to have visited DAK at the hospital.

In uploads on his social media, he referred to DAK as a victim of sadistic torture and premeditated murder attempts, before finally being found safe on the side of the toll road by local residents.
