Ammar Zoni Not Brought To Nusakambangan, Ditjenpas: Still In The Process Of New Cases

JAKARTA - The soap opera actor Ammar Zoni, who is currently serving a sentence due to narcotics abuse cases, is not included in the list of 41 high-risk inmates from Jakarta who were transferred to a correctional facility in Nusakambangan, Central Java.

"Ammar Zoni is not included because it will still undergo the process of his new case," said Head of the Sub-Directorate for Cooperation of the Directorate General of Corrections Rika Aprianti to ANTARA, Monday, October 13.

Previously, the Directorate General of Corrections transferred 41 high risk prisoners to five prisons with layered security in Nusakambangan.

Head of the Central Java Ditjenpas Regional Office, Mardi Santoso, said the inmates arrived in Nusakambangan on Monday morning at around 05.30 WIB.

A total of 15 people were placed in the Super Maximum Security Prison in Karanganyar, five people in the Super Maximum Security Prison in Pasir Putih, eight people in the Maximum Iron Prison, 12 people in Ngaseman Prison, and one person in the Begitusan Prison, "said Mardi.

All of these prisoners will undergo coaching and security in accordance with the results of their respective risk assessments.

Meanwhile, the head of Cipinang Class I Prison, Wachid Wibowo, said Ammar Zoni was still languishing in Cipinang Prison, East Jakarta, since July 2025.

Ammar Zoni was first detained at the Salemba Rutan. After that, he was transferred to Cipinang Prison to serve his main sentence after the court's decision," said Wachid.

The 31-year-old actor was previously sentenced to four years in prison in a narcotics abuse case. However, in early October 2025, Ammar was again involved in a new case after being suspected of being involved in drug trafficking in the Salemba detention center.

Head of the Class I Rutan in Central Jakarta, Wahyu Trah Utomo, revealed that the illegal activity had been going on since January 2025.

"Our officers at the time of the raid suspected AZ's movements. After a search was carried out, methamphetamine and dried marijuana were found," said Wahyu, Friday (10/10).

Currently, the new case is still in the process of being investigated to determine Ammar Zoni's role in the drug trafficking network within the detention center.
