AMBON - Maluku Regional Police (Polda) followed up on reports of alleged criminal acts of vandalism that occurred at the Maluku Province Golkar Party Regional Leadership Council (DPD) Office, on Jalan Ade Irma Nasution, Amantelu Village, Sirimau District, Ambon City.
"The case is now under investigation by investigators from the General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of the Maluku Police," said Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Kombes Rositah Umasugi, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 10.
He revealed that the vandalism incident occurred on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at around 15.00 WIT.
Based on the report received, the reported party in this case is JFM along with about 30 other people who allegedly came to the location and carried out acts of destruction of office buildings and a number of inventory items belonging to the Maluku Golkar Party DPD.
"We have received this case and it is being handled by the Ditreskrimum investigators. Law enforcement will be carried out objectively, transparently, and according to procedures, while still prioritizing the principle of presumption of innocence," he said.
The official report was submitted by the Deputy Chairperson of the Legal and Human Rights Policy Division of the Maluku Golkar DPD, Theodoron Makarios Soulisa. He said the party fully handed over the legal process to the police.
"We hope that the police can follow up on this report professionally and transparently so as not to cause a commotion in the public sphere. The Golkar Party respects the law and leaves it entirely to the authorities," Theodoron said.
As a result of this incident, the Maluku Golkar Party DPD suffered a material loss of around Rp. 70 million, including damage to the office furniture and organizational administrative equipment.
From the results of the initial examination, it is suspected that the motive for the vandalism was triggered by an internal misunderstanding, by destroying facilities and goods in the office.

"We have received the report and are currently conducting an investigation. We have examined about 10 witnesses," he said.
