JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi denied the issue of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo proposing a number of names that were included as members of the National Police Reform Committee.

Prasetyo emphasized that National Police Chief Listyo Sigit had never submitted a name, let alone President Prabowo's rejection of the names of members of the National Police Reform Committee which was announced immediately.

"Where did the information come from? The National Police Chief never submitted a name and there was never any rejection (from the President)," Prasetyo said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 8.

Pras admitted that President Prabowo had already pocketed the names of the nine members of the National Police Reform Committee.

He revealed that the nine members will be filled by various competent figures in the field of law, as well as have experience in the field of police.

When asked further about the former National Police Chief who joined the committee, Pras only answered briefly.

"Wait for the names," he said.

Previously, Pras said President Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to announce the formation of the National Police Reform Committee and inaugurate its members this week.

When asked about the certainty about the inauguration schedule, Pras again answered normatively, while joking with the media.

"Wait for the game date, there will be a day in particular. God willing (tomorrow)," said Pras.

The establishment of the Police Reform Committee or the Police Reform Committee is one of President Prabowo's promises to fulfill the aspirations of the community regarding the internal reform of the Police, especially after various pressures emerged from various community groups.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correction Yusril Ihza Mahendra in Jakarta last week (26/9) said that the formation of the National Police Reform Committee was announced at the latest by President Prabowo in mid-October 2025.

Yusril later revealed that a number of legal figures are likely to be members of the committee. The names predicted to be appointed as members of the committee include Jimly Asshiddiqie and Mahfud MD.
