The North Kalimantan Provincial Government continues to show its seriousness in improving the quality and equity of education, especially in border areas.

Kaltara Governor Zainal Arifin Paliwang officially launched the Garuda Superior School Program, in an event that took place at the North Kalimantan Provincial DPRD office, Wednesday, October 8.

Governor Zainal emphasized that the launch of the Garuda School was a concrete step for the government to expand access to education for all Kaltara people, especially in hard-to-reach areas.

"The launch of this new Garuda School is clear evidence of our commitment to increasing access to education for all levels of society, especially in areas that may be difficult to reach," said the Governor.

The Garuda School Program is part of the national effort to expand access to superior education and accelerate the development of Indonesian science and technology talents, according to Presidential Instruction Number 7 of 2025.

"Garuda School is part of the national strategic program as stated in Presidential Decree No. 12 of 2025, which places education as the foundation for complete Indonesian human development," he explained.

Governor Zainal invites all parties to play an active role in supporting the success of the program.

"Let's make this Garuda School a place that encourages the spirit of learning and forms a tough character for our children, to create an Advanced, Prosperous, and Sustainable Province of North Kalimantan," he added.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Religion, Nasaruddin Umar, also expressed his appreciation for the initiative of the North Kalimantan Provincial Government. He considered that the Garuda School was a symbol of the pride of the people in the border area.

At the border of this country, we hope that children will no longer admire their neighbors, but admire their own country. God willing, all eyes will turn to this place, because this is a really reliable school," said the Minister of Religion.

According to the Minister of Religion, Garuda School is designed to produce future national leaders who can compete in the global arena.

"Those who enter this school will be seriously cadred to be able to penetrate world-leading universities, such as Harvard University," he concluded.
