BIAK - The Government of Biak Numfor Regency, Papua Province, built a 5.2 kilometer long road on Bromsi Saribra Island, Aimando District, to encourage economic growth of the local community.
"The construction of the Bromsi Saribra road is supported by additional funds for special autonomy infrastructure in 2025," said Head of the Biak Numfor District Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, Frans Watimena, in Biak, Antara, Wednesday, October 8.
Frans explained that the presence of this new road is expected to facilitate access between regions, facilitate the mobility of residents, and accelerate the distribution of agricultural and fishery products in coastal and archipelago areas.
In addition to road construction on Bromsi Saribra Island, the Biak Numfor Regency Government also carried out village road maintenance programs in several other locations, including 250-meter-long Soryar Village, 200-meter Anggopi Village, and 200-meter Tanjung Sarweri.
"As well as the maintenance of Wadibu Anggopi, the GBGP Mandow Block Grand is carried out using a self-management system," said Frans.
He added that all infrastructure work is targeted to be completed according to the implementation schedule in the field.
