Head of the Bandung Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Abdul Rahman, said that of the five perpetrators arrested, two of them were father and son involved in motorcycle theft.

Abdul said the disclosure of this case was the result of an investigation conducted from September to early October 2025.
The five suspects arrested each with the initials AL, FA, ES, R, and RMN, while one other person with the initials C is still being chased (DPO).
According to him, the perpetrators carried out their actions by breaking the handlebar lock using the T key and they also took advantage of the negligence of the vehicle owner who left the key on the motorbike.
"Several victims left their keys on their motorbikes. This was used by the perpetrators who immediately took the vehicle away," he said.
