"From the results of the arrests, we secured 36 units of motorcycles of various brands as evidence," said Zulkarnain during a press conference in Morowali, Antara, Monday, October 6.
He explained that the two perpetrators, namely M alias G alias A (46) and EG alias E (22), often act together in a number of locations in Bahodopi District. Meanwhile, the perpetrators of HMS alias H (25) committed theft alone at night.
"HMS perpetrators usually look for a motorbike that is not locked, then break the lock and connect the contact cable before taking the vehicle away," he said.
The police charged the three perpetrators with Article 363 Paragraph (1) of the 3rd Criminal Code (KUHP) with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.
The police chief also appealed to people who feel they have lost their motorbikes to immediately come to the Morowali Police Station by bringing vehicle documents to match with evidence.
