183 Train Accidents In September 2025

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area 1 Jakarta recorded 183 train accidents involving objects on the train line in the Daop 1 Jakarta area from January to September 2025.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Operational Area (Daop) 1 Jakarta, Ixfan Hendriwintoko in Jakarta, Saturday, said that of these, 132 cases involved people, 47 cases involving vehicles and four other cases involving animals.

The collision case even occurred today, namely the 1920 train (CL Duri-Tangerang) and involved cars at km 0 + 3 / 5 of the Hulu Duri-Rawabuaya route, precisely at illegal crossings.

Furthermore, KA 131 (Parahyangan Bandung-Gambir) at km 13+9/8, Hilir DDT Bekasi (BKS)-Jatinegara (JNG) Line.

"Reports from ASP KA 131 that the train was grazed (hit by) people on the track," said Ixfan.

Ixfan appealed to the entire community not to carry out any activities on the railway line, including walking or selling around the tracks.

"Railways are dangerous spaces and are only intended for train travel so that all forms of activity in these areas have the potential to threaten life safety," he said.

Referring to Law Number 23 of 2007 concerning Railways, the railway line and its benefit space should not be used other than for railway purposes.

Violations of these provisions can be subject to criminal sanctions or fines.

In addition, the public is also reminded not to build illegal (liar) level crossings because it is one of the trigger factors for the high number of accidents at railroad crossings.

Ixfan said that the construction of illegal crossings not only endangers the safety of road users, but can also interfere with the smooth operation of the Train.

"If illegal crossings are found, KAI together with local governments and related parties will carry out control in accordance with applicable regulations," he said.
