US Military Expert Values Western Citizens Manipulated: Hoax News Pasti From Non-Western Countries

JAKARTA - The validity of information and news originating from Western countries is questioned. News from the west is considered manipulated, so citizens believe fake news only comes from non-west countries.

This is based on the assumption that US military expert Abraham Abrams, who thinks the West has created an illusion that fake news only comes from non-Western countries.

"I think Western domination in the information space and superiority in the information war is so significant that people in the West are mostly conditioned to see fake news that other parties are working on, by non-West countries," Abraham told Tass, Friday, October 3.

Abrams also discussed the media landscape in the US, where Democrats and Republicans show deep distrust of media that tends to take sides.

According to him, this action can exacerbate divisions in the community.

"In the US, the situation is slightly different because the two camps in the political spectrum, Democrats and Republicans, have become very disbelieving in the media from opposing camps in terms of divisive issues. That is why, for example, President [Donald] Trump during his first term of office called CNN journalists and other media to produce fake news, "said Abraham.

Abraham then advised countries in the world to fight disinformation by developing their own digital platforms or collaborating to create information spaces that are more resilient and far from hoaxes.
