Minister Of RB Will Sanction 134 ASN Suspected Homecoming

JAKARTA - Minister of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (Menpan RB) Tjahjo Kumolo confirmed that it will impose sanctions on 134 state civil servants (ASN) who allegedly violated homecoming rules during the holiday period and Eid al-Fitr 2021.

"Please enter the REPORT system! immediately investigated and acted upon. If found guilty, officials of staffing supervisors (PPK) can sanction," said Tjahjo speaking before his ranks at the Office of the Ministry of PAN RB, Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 17.

report! refers to the National Public Service Complaint Management System-People's Aspiration Services and Online Complaints (SP4N-LAPOR!).

Report system! has received 160 reports from the public during the eid holiday and shared holiday period. However, only 134 ASN employees were complained to return to their hometowns.

The rest, the report is related to requests for information and aspirations.

Previously, The Minister of Foreign Affairs has issued instructions in the form of a ban on homecoming for ASN during 6-17 May 2021 to support government efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The instruction was issued in the Circular letter of the Minister of PAN RB No.8/2021 concerning Restrictions on Activities to Travel Outside the Region and/or Homecoming and/or Leave for ASN Employees during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The circular expressly prohibits civil servants to go home, unless there is a certain reason for written permission from the PPK, or there is a letter of duty that has been signed by at least a primary high official or echelon II level officials.

Related to the report, Tjahjo asked the relevant agencies to immediately clarify the report of 134 ASN homecoming so that sanctions in the form of disciplinary penalties can be immediately imposed if they are found to be in violation of the rules.

"The awarding of disciplinary penalties is carried out based on PP No.53/2010 on Civil Servant Discipline and PP No.49/2018 on PPPK Management. The provision of disciplinary punishment depends on the type and impact of violations committed by civil servants," Tjahjo was quoted as saying from his written statement in Jakarta on Monday.
