KPK Confiscates Assets Of Former Ministry Of Manpower Officials, Alleged Extortion Of Rp53.7 Billion

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confiscated two assets related to the alleged extortion case in the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA) within the Ministry of Manpower.

The asset belongs to Haryanto, former Expert Staff of the Minister of Manpower for International Relations during the era of Minister of Manpower Yassierli.

"The assets are in the form of land or buildings, namely a 90-square meter rental in the Cimanggis area, Depok City, and a 180-square meter house in the Sentul area, Bogor Regency, West Java," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo, as quoted by ANTARA.

The confiscation was carried out last week, as part of the development of the alleged extortion case of RPTKA. Haryanto himself was named one of the eight suspects in the case.

Budi explained, "The two assets were purchased in cash, the money allegedly came from the alleged extortion of foreign workers agents. The two assets were then named as relatives."

Previously, on June 5, 2025, the KPK announced the identities of eight suspects in the alleged extortion case of RPTKA. They are Suhartono, Haryanto, Wisnu Pramono, Devi Anggraeni, Gatot Widiartono, Putri Citra Wahyoe, Jamal Shodiqin, and Alfa Eshad.

According to the KPK, in the 2019-2024 period, the suspects allegedly managed to collect around Rp53.7 billion from extortion practices. RPTKA itself is a mandatory document that must be owned by foreign workers to be able to work in Indonesia. Without RPTKA, work permits and residence permits cannot be issued, thus causing vulnerability to the practice of bribery or extortion because the applicant is threatened with a fine of Rp1 million per day.

The KPK investigated that this practice was thought to have taken place since the era of the Minister of Manpower Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar (20092014), then continued during the Hanif Dhakiri period (20142019), to Ida Fauziyah (20192024).

As a follow-up, eight suspects have now been detained by the KPK. The detention was carried out in two stages, namely on July 17, 2025 for the first four suspects, and July 24, 2025 for the next four suspects.

This firm step by the KPK through the confiscation of assets and detention is expected not only to settle cases, but also to serve as a reminder that the integrity of public services must be maintained for the sake of legal certainty and justice for the community.
