JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) regrets the chaos in the 10th Congress which left a number of cadres injured and had to receive treatment at the hospital.
PPP Chairman Muhammad Mardiono said chaos should not occur in the party's highest deliberation forum.
"There are several of our cadres who have suffered head injuries, then on the lips, and so on. Of course, we will continue with the legal process," said Mardiono in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Saturday, September 27.
Mardiono later said that signs of disturbance had been seen since the beginning of the congress. He suspects that there are groups that seem to have a certain agenda in this congress.
"From the start, there have been signs of other parties who will impose their will in this congress process for certain purposes," he said.
The congress forum in the self-election runs behind closed doors, and is only attended by internal parties. However, he said that his party had pocketed CCTV footage which would be evidence for the police to carry out an investigation.
"There is CCTV, later the police will conduct an investigation," he said.
