JAKARTA The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) provides plastic bottle waste exchange facilities to become shopping vouchers at the Jakarta Eco Future Festival (JEFF) 2025 at Cibis Park, South Jakarta, from Thursday to Friday tomorrow.

"There is a Trash to Treasure where visitors can carry plastic bottles and other recurring waste to exchange for environmentally friendly products or shopping vouchers at the Eco Market," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (DLH) Asep Kuswanto in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, September 25.

JEFF 2025 carries the theme Rethen, Reuse, Recreate and presents various activities such as talk shows, creative workshops about cleaning cabinets, art installations Garden of Waste', to environmental-themed virtual reality (VR) experiences. The festival also features green innovation, recycled products, and sustainable business initiatives.

"There is a workshop to make interesting crafts from recurring waste, art installations that turn waste into reflection rooms about environmental crises and beauty born from change," said Asep.

Through this activity, the DKI Provincial Government highlighted control of air pollution and the circular economy, as well as conveying information about the appropriate action to control air pollution based on early warning.

Asep targets the event to be attended by 8,000 people from various levels of society, ranging from students, academics, waste bank administrators, magazine activists, to other environmental communities.

Through JEFF 2025, we see that the transition to a green economy is not just a concept, but a real movement. JEFF 2025 is a learning room, inspiration as well as a celebration of a sustainable lifestyle," he said.

As a series of pre-events, DLH DKI sprayed 4,000 liters of water mist at a number of strategic points in the Capital City, such as Dukuh Atas, TB Simatupang, Fatmawati, Bundaran HI, MH Thamrin, to Lapangan Banteng. This step is believed to help reduce pollutants, especially PM2.5, as well as create healthier public spaces.

In addition to spraying, DLH is also alerting videotron mobiles that show educational messages regarding air pollution control. Through this facility, people are invited to be more aware of taking simple steps, such as routine vehicle emission tests and switching to public transportation.

“Pengendalian polusi tidak bisa dilakukan pemerintah semata. Partisipasi warga, dunia usaha, dan komunitas sangat penting untuk mewujudkan Jakarta yang lebih bersih, sehat, dan berkelanjutan,” kata Asep.

"Restriction control cannot be done solely by the government. The participation of citizens, the business world, and the community is very important to create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Jakarta," said Asep.
