JAKARTA - United States Special Envoy Steve Witkoff said on Wednesday President Donald Trump had submitted a 21-point peace plan for the Middle East and Gaza Strip to leaders from several Muslim-majority countries, confident it would "break" in the coming days.

President Trump met with leaders and officials from Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia and Pakistan on Tuesday to discuss the war that has lasted for nearly two years in Gaza between Israel and Palestinian militants, Hamas.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

"Our side is very productive. We convey what we call Trump's 21-point plan for peace in the Middle East and Gaza. I think this plan answers Israel's concerns and, too, concerns from all neighboring countries in the region," Witkoff said at the Concordia summit in New York.

"We are hopeful, and I can say, even confident that in the coming days we will be able to announce some kind of breakthrough," said Witkoff.

In line with President Trump's plan, several European powers and Arab-Muslim countries have also sought initiatives for what will happen after the war in Gaza ends, including the formation of stabilization forces consisting of European countries and Muslims.

They met on Tuesday after a meeting held by President Trump.

European diplomats hope that their work and the declaration passed by the General Assembly to support the deployment of international stabilization missions can be in line with Uncle Sam's country's plans.

The White House is known to remain a staunch ally of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on Friday on a visit to the US which also included a meeting with Presiedn Trump.

President Trump is scheduled to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington on Monday.

It is known that the two leaders have criticized the recognition of the Palestinian State by Western powers such as France and Britain over the past few days.
