PDIP Regarding The News Mahfud MD Entered The Police Reform Team: Good, The People Are Straight

JAKARTA - PDIP DPP chairman Deddy Yevri Sitorus responded to the news of Mahfud MD joining the National Police Reform Committee formed by President Prabowo Subianto. According to him, this is natural considering that Mahfud MD has a good track record.

"Yes, it's good. The person is straight, clean, so I think it's normal," said Deddy at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 24.

Meanwhile, when asked about Mahfud MD, it was rumored that he could offer to become Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs replacing Budi Gunawan, Deddy was reluctant to comment much.

According to him, the former vice presidential candidate who had been promoted by his party had held the position in the last government.

"Oh, it's gone. The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs is already there, why are we discussing it again," he said.

Deddy also emphasized that PDIP would not be disappointed if Mahfud MD was actually appointed as Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs replacing Budi Gunawan.

"Wow, we are not easy men who are disappointed, don't comment, we have passed far away," he said.

It is known that President Prabowo Subianto will form a Police Reform Committee which will be fronted by nine figures. The formation of this committee comes in line with demonstrations that occurred in various regions and claimed lives, at the end of last August.

Former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD revealed that he had been met by Cabinet Secretary Lt. Col. Teddy Indra Wijaya and was offered to help President Prabowo Subianto join the Police reform team. Mahfud admitted that he agreed to the offer.

"From that long discussion, I only conveyed one thing to confirm that I approved Pak Prabowo's entire plan for reform, and I was able to help in the Police reform team alone," Mahfud said on YouTube Mahfud MD Official, which was seen Tuesday, September 23.
